Wow! I cannot believe how fast time flies! So much has went on over the last few months so let me stick to the brass tacks.
We want to praise the Lord for providing for us the purchase of a new vehicle. We prayed for a specific make & model with a specific price, which was far under book value. Hallelujah! The Lord answered that prayer exactly!
These last few months have been much busier in the ministry than the previous couple. The Lord has provided opportunities for pulpit supply in my home church, and in a supporting church. I have also had the opportunity to minister in preaching to a congregation in the area who is without a pastor.
One of our biggest duties over the course of the last several months was to coordinate and conduct our home church’s Christian school revival. During this week we were able to witness Christ saving at least one soul, and I believe many decisions were made by our teens and young ones to greater commitment to Christ.
I was able to setup a table with information about our ministry in a revival conference. I remember as I was packing everything up I began to get a little discouraged as I noticed how it didn’t seem very much material had been taken. It was then that the Lord said to me “I’m bigger than a piece of paper”. The very next day I received emails from two separate pastors for whom I’ve preached before asking for me to call them. Isn’t that just like our Lord!? One of these pastors booked Easter Sunday with us (Melvin Baptist Church), and the other booked us for a missions conference in October (Bible Baptist, Charlevoix).
We will be running an advertisement for our ministry in the Sword of the Lord newspaper. Would you join us in asking that the Lord would use this to encourage pastors to use us?
Many of you know that my wife and her sisters (The White Sisters) have had a number of opportunities to minister in song for conferences and such. A man in our church has volunteered to put forth his own money to have them make a CD. They have just made a demo CD that will then be used to see how much further the Lord will take this. Would you pray that this will go as far as the Lord wants it?
As I write this letter I have just returned from a 3-day prayer retreat where Evangelist Rick Flanders met with a number of preachers to pray for revival – particularly the Michigan State Revival that is coming up in June. I believe that the Lord has heard our prayers and that the Lord will grant us a measure of revival as we continue to pray for it. Please continue to pray for a revival that will spread all across Michigan and spill over into the rest of the states. May the Summer of 2017 be remembered as “The Summer of Revival”!
As we look ahead we are excited that the Lord has provided a number of opportunities for pulpit supply in the next month for both my home church and a church in the area who is without a pastor. Please pray for God’s presence in these meetings and that I would be a Spirit-filled preacher. By the next time I write a letter, prayerfully, our family will have increased by one as we anticipate the arrival of our baby Ella Eve. Please pray for the arrival our next baby girl!
