At the end of September we left for Florida and didn’t arrive back in Michigan until November 8th – just in time to vote! This is our longest stint on the road since we’ve been in the ministry of evangelism. The Lord blessed us in amazing ways!
We travelled over 4,000 miles and we are home safe and sound!
We spent 42 days on the road and only needed to pay for lodging for 4 of those days!
We reported in our last letter that we had 6 meetings booked for that time. When all was said & done we ended up being able to minister by teaching and preaching in 10 different churches.
In addition, we were able to drop in on 3 different churches, attend a pastor’s conference, and our former college’s Bible Conference (Landmark Baptist Church, Haines City, Fl)
We have been having slight transmission issues with our minivan for quite some time, and we made it back with no major mechanic issues.
Of course, all of the details above are the simple brass tacks of how God answered prayers, and even blessed us in ways where we didn’t even think to pray (Eph. 3:20), but this list of praise does not compare to the weight of the spiritual impact made through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. It’s important for you to know that if you prayed, you take part in the eternal rewards for the spiritual fruit harvested. Thus, when you pray, our ministry is a ministry that we share with you. We deeply covet your prayers! Pray for us!
We covet your prayers in a bigger way than before because we are entering a spot in our ministry that is going to be a bit of a dry patch. Aside from a Christian School revival I will plan for my home church, we have no meetings scheduled from this day forth. If I were to tell you that this is not something that brings discouragement, I would be lying to you. I do not stay discouraged though! It was God who placed us in this ministry a little over a year ago, and we are committed to remain faithful to His dear cause. It was God who has provided us meetings in the past and who will continue to do so. We are content to accept that this “barren” patch in the ministry is the will of God. Please pray for us that we would learn what He is trying to teach us; that we would encourage ourselves in the Lord when times get discouraging; and that He would provide for us opportunities to preach for the cause of revival in our local churches!
I want to thank you for your prayers and your financial support. We simply could not do what we have done without those things. I am going to have to pick up some form of employment that would be extremely flexible to accommodate the demands of continuing in this ministry. I will pursue teaching online as a freelance English teacher to help supplement our income , but I’m not sure how profitable this will be. Please pray that we will have His mind in this situation.
As you read this letter, if you are not in the state of revival, please pray, and seek His face, humble yourself before the Almighty, and He absolutely – sooner or later – will bring revival to your heart. The Word of God is replete with such promises! Oh what an opportunity so little taken advantage of…
